Why, I Mean, Really Why?

Okay, I’ve not been as prolific as I was, there again I guess I was never actually, prolific. OMG I’ve managed to deviate before I’ve even started. Oh, well…The WHY? question… I keep reading your posts and WP has this little blue sign that says FOLLOW. Now the fact you are popping up on my feed/email/notifications means that I am actually following you, doesn’t it? So why does WP unfollow you on my behalf.

I’ve been a little boring lately. I’m still swimming. God I hate swimming. I forget which member of our little group had the idea to do a Triathlon but I’m beginning to to think it was a bad idea. I keep saying I’m a runner but no one listens😂

I’ve been editing and writing a lot. Work still gets in the way… does anyone else find that? It’s only 20 hours a week (they pay me well) but it’s still annoying. I find, these days, all my writing is between 6pm and 11pm. Then I get up at 5:45 to either swim (did I mention that I hate swimming? 😂) or cycle.

Oh! I had run a 10 mile race last Sunday. I was disappointed with 1hr 16mins as it only got me 11th out 38 in my age range. Grrr these fast old men😂

Film recommendation coming up: Tadaaa (does that come first or after? 🤔) The film is ‘Belfast’. You’ve read my reviews before so I will spare you the agony of another. It was very good and I think even with the absence of minority groups and any one of the 90, new genders it may win an Oscar. We’ll see, they have to careful not upset anyone.

My next race is a week on Sunday and it’s called Bloodaxe. This something to do with a Viking because it’s in York. Apart from that I have no idea except we run around a track for two hours to see how many miles you can cover. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, can you? Take care my little writing friends, summer is coming.

Swimming is not for me either, Charlie; summer or winter… brrrrrrr…
I heard someone talking about the film ‘Belfast’; they thought it could be Oscar material. I’ll have to see about seeing it. But, covid and theatres, well, hmmmm… Maybe wait for it to come to Netflix or whatever!
    Keep writing, you’re good… 😉 😉

I used to like swimming when I was younger. Just contemplating trying to swim a whole lap now would be a clear suicide mission for me. You’re doing good, you’re a man of many skills and you can kick ass with this triathlon business! This is why I’m not employed as a pep talker. But I do truly mean it, you’re clearly super fit and a brilliant sportsman. And there’s a lot of slightly sociopathic, masochistic dedication involved in getting up at an ungodly hour to swim.

I’ve not come across Belfast so I’ll have to IMDB it. It does seem that just about anything at the moment can be criticised for not appealing to everyone or because it could be interpreted as prejudicial; it’s a dangerous path that doesn’t go anywhere good when it gets this extreme.

Bloodaxe. My, my. I love the sound of that! Enjoy my friend, run your socks off! x

    • Aww, Caz you are too kind 😉 I have to agree when the alarm goes off at 5:45 I really don’t feel the love lol. You can’t sort your head out when you are swimming, either. Now a 10 mile run, that really is mindfulness lol.
You will enjoy Belfast even though you’ll cry, not necessarily through sadness though.
And don’t forget… you are a phenomenal woman in your own right. A true fighter. Take care Caz 🙂

Ah, WordPress and its PHP minion programmers… The more you jack with code (PHP & Javascript), the more errors you create. It can be particularly sticky as the phone app is Java coding, not Javascript. Everything can get really hinky.

    It’s bugs…BUGS, I TELL YOU!

And, you are nuts going swimming…outside…in winter…just sayin’…

    • The first bit? I have absolutely no idea what you said there lmao
Yes, I know but I promised to do this Triathlon with the rest of our little group on my running partners birthday, so I’m doing it. But I’ve made it abundantly clear, its the last time they’ll see me in a pool lol

Yeah. Sorry. A little programming humor. WordPress is programmed in PHP with Javascript (scripting language). Everyone wants maximum functionality but, sometimes, coders FUBAR one thing to fix another.

I miss the days of programming in BASIC when the worst you had to worry about was an infinite loop (where your “If/Then” statement logic is flawed and your program begins to loop, forever, until you hit “escape”…ESC key…and put it out of its misery. Or yours…😆

Oops, sorry about that. I wasn’t finished in typing when I accidentally hit the arrow button and sent the post, but back to what I was saying – You have been doing a lot. All wonderful things too – All that exercise is fantastic – You hate swimming but your body will love you for it! I think it’s AMAZING!

  12. I want your 20 hour schedule!! Work does get in the way of a lot.
How did you do in the race?

  13. It would probably take me a couple of days to do ten miles these days, so don’t worry too much, it could be a lot worse. 🙂
