A Marshall but no Badge

Once again it seems I am to stand and encourage sweating, heaving bodies battle their way to ecstasy. Although my lump has now become quite hard I really don’t think it could cope with Sunday’s mass gathering. So I will marshall the Virtual Great North Run as part of the Beverley Westwood parkrun and rest the Achilles’ tendon.

Still it will be a good morning for everyone else but I’m a teensy weeny bit jealous. The countryside is fab. I know because I walked the route today. There are some great places where you could put your foot down! Still, there’s always next year 😉

Not my most exciting post but if you’ve read the past ones you know I’m busy helping my buddy get her house done whilst fighting off the sex workers 😂

  1. Wow, Charlie, such gorgeous countryside for your runners! Sorry you can’t run this year, but you’ll be better for it in the long run — better to let your injury heal completely. Enjoy your day spending time outside with your friends!

  6. Gorgeous area to walk/run. Second day at the beach, and continues to rain.

  7. Must admit I’ve enjoyed previous posts more, but at our age constant excitement probably isn’t good for us anyway. It does give me an idea though – if you’re having trouble with those pesky young women just tell them about your running, and your injuries and your marshalling anecdozzzzzzzzzzz….

Yep – I can imagine being a teensy weensy bit jealous, Charlie; so hard to refrain from a bit of fun.
By the way – you are lookin’ good. No wonder those young ones are pestering you. You lucky so and so! 🙂

    • Thank you, Carolyn it wasn’t quite as bad as I thought as I got stung on the side by a Hornet just before the start lol. I appreciate the compliment but there’s still a bit of ‘lockdown belly’ to shift 😂 xx

Ouch! Those hornets can hurt – a lot. 😦
I know what you mean by a ‘bit’ of lockdown belly. It’s amazing, even with all the dancing and exercises at home I’m doing how the chin and the belly grow. Oh to be dancing on a great big floor expending lots of energy – and fat…
        Hahah… Soon I hope! 🙂
