So last year the Princess having never run in her life decided to start running, but kept it a secret as she worked her way through the Couch to 5k program, she never told a soul. I guess she was probably wary that I may try to take over and ‘coach’ her. Well, I call it coaching and she calls it bullying, I didn’t know there was a difference; having been coached by the Master many years ago π So today was her very first 5k Parkrun and guess what she wants to do more π Just goes to show what you can achieve if you really want, proud of her π

I came here to write a blog post since I haven’t written anything in what seems like a decade but I had to stop by and comment on your post. I, too, am proud of your princess. Congratulations to her. I recently started running, on the treadmill, that is. I wouldn’t dare venture outside and I can tell ya that running isn’t easy, at all. It takes forever to build up the proper stamina to actually run a 5K. Your princess not only did that but looks like she shed some pounds in the process. Again, a huge congratulations to her.

Thank you Raquel, Iβll pass that on π Yes it was quite an effort, for her first outside runs I did run with her, quietly of course ππ

Fantastic work the Princess. I am really looking forward to the post the day after she whoops yo ass in running. Plus I dig the secrecy of the clandestine training for couch to 5K. It’s all good here CharlieBoy.

Thanks Pete, itβs funny cos she said she would never run. Then she would never do a Parkrun, now she wants to do it every week π

Wayhey, way to go!! I’d probably want to keep it secret too, not because of the bullying (ahem, ‘coaching’) but just incase I decided I’d rather stay on the couch after all π

That is quite an uplifting story. I keep thinking I have to do something about my health and fitness. This post could be my inspiration…
Well, it could be the start of a ten minute bout of inspiration. It doesn’t do to do too much at one time.
Good to see that the Equality and Diversity committee isn’t rubbing off on you. π

Haha, think yourself fit, thereβs a novel idea. Yes always my excuse when I make one of those inappropriate βtumbleweedβ comments, π

I once read a scientific article that talked about “visualising” and the fitness benefits it brings. I wish I could find it again because nobody ever believes me. I did, honestly…

A bit harsh π You could walk π

I’d have to walk…DO walk. My knees have been screwed up since I was 12. I can walk miles. I can’t run them. I ‘might’ be good for a 1/4 mi. sprint if the adrenaline kicked in from, say, a perp chasing my ass with a knife. After that, panting & perspiring, I’d just have to turn & defend my own honor.

Coaching or Bullying! LOL. I was a high school teacher and coach for 45 years. Pretty accurate.
