The cold shivers ravage your body and your spine feels like its just come out of cold storage then you realise someone is drilling holes into the backs of your eyes. Meanwhile sweat oozes from every pore and you feel like a human Niagara.
“Would you like me to fill your water glass?” She asks.
“No I’ll just lie here and die of bloody thirst.” I answer. There’s no comeback, people learn quickly, I am a terrible patient. Later I am asked if I would like some soup?
“You know what? As I can hardly swallow and my gums feel as though someone has been trying to cut them out with a Jig saw all night why don’t you rustle up me a T-Bone, FFS!!!” I’ve always been like that,ย I remember hearing voices outside my room when, as a kid I had the Flu. My elder sister enquired as to my well being and my mother replied, “Go in and see him if you dare, horrible nasty little demon.” Many years later after watching the Exorcist I had some sympathy for them.
So yes I am sick and have been struggling all week for a post, although I have been informed that going for a 12k run followed by a cold bath on Thursday wouldn’t have helped. But you know me, never surrender ๐๐๐๐๐

Get well soon, bro. Try a little warm water in that shower. You’d be surprised — it feels kinda good that way ๐

I hate to say it, but I was your nurse I’d have quit by the T-bone remark. I’m actually a great nurse, unless the patient is a horrible, nasty little arseh…/demon! ๐ Get (your own water) Well Soon! X

I guess I wouldn’t have commented in that way if I’d thought you wouldn’t ‘get it’. I know that you ‘get’ me by now.

You went on a 12k run when you’re sick? I don’t think even the possessed devil girl in The Exorcist was that crazy masochistic. Not sure about the cold bath, either… with the flu, my mother always said ‘sweat it out’. Maybe try 6hrs in a sauna, see what that does (probably a fat lot of good, but better than getting pneumonia). Rest up! Take it easy, impatient patient. I really do hope you’re feeling a bit better soon, it’s rotten feeling so rough. xx

Yeah, your mother was right after the run I had about three layers on in bed and woke up the next morning feeling……… dreadful ๐๐ No, I did feel a little better and I think Iโll get a long run in tomorrow as itโs lifting. Thank for your kind words x

I imagine by now, Charlie, that you are either regressed and have pneumonia, or you are actually able to be civil to our dear Princess with one hand outstretched to her lovingly and with a touch of regret for your behaviour! (I’m also sure that the Princess can handle herself (and you) very nicely indeed…)… ๐๐๐

Haha, you know me so well already, Iโm much improved thank you and going for a long run tomorrow, against Princess advice, but have managed to contaminate her with said disease and so Iโll be left alone now, sheโll be okay as itโs not as bad as the strain I had ๐๐๐๐

There’s no such thing as a bad patient. I’ve been a nurse for almost 3 decades and people are at their worst when they’re sick. They’re in pain, they feel awful, they’re scared, they’re out of their environment. So there may be some people who roll their eyes at you when you’re sick, most staff understand that it’s totally normal to react that way when you’re not well.
